Performance Facilitation

Platinum Series: Developmental facilitation is detailed in the links to your left.

"It is better to know some of the questions than all of the answers" - James Thurber

Our Strategically Integrated Human Resource Development approach, supported by internationally copyrighted materials and processes, will eliminate barriers and align your employees and departments in a manner that will produce short and long-term results. This will increase the productivity of your people, lower turnover, and enable you to achieve desired goals more often.

We use performance facilitation to achieve superior results for you! The relationship between training and facilitation depends materially on two variables, namely, time available and the number of participants shown as follows;

Time<Training<Participants Time>Facilitation>Participants

Facilitation requires more time than training since it is more interactive. It also requires ideally no more than 15 participants to a session which creates a more inclusive, participatory environment. Where limited time or increased group size exist, the outcome more often is training over facilitation.

Training is the practice of teaching new skills. Facilitation is the practice of helping participants use the skills they already have, more effectively; thereby helping them to achieve their goals, more often.

Finally, consulting is the practice of "telling" from an expert or an informed, researched, analytical perspective. Facilitation is the practice of listening or guiding subject matter experts (SMEs) toward desired outcomes.

Alliance Professional Group, LLC provides facilitation services to meet any and all of the management and organizational requirements of its valued customers.

Our Platinum Series of developmental facilitation is detailed in the links to your left. These processes use an "inside out" approach that will help participants develop and adopt the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitudes to overcome limiting preconditioned behavior. They are always performed by professional, certified facilitators, over a period of weeks, in order to achieve permanent organizational change.

Full multi-week developmental facilitation is often preferred over shorter workshops since it exposes participants to the full power of an internal, facilitative process using spaced repetition to achieve permanent, measurable, behavioral, personal and organizational change. Developmental facilitation is often required to augment skills training because;

  • Lack of Organizational Commitment- Training can be cheap and often lacks sufficient support by managers who want to "fix those people down there" without considering more holistic leadership or interdepartmental solutions. The lack of management support AND involvement is the primary cause of adult learning transfer failure, mistarts, and poor return on investment (ROI). Accountability is Usually Missing - Training usually is short on accountability and measurable gains using predefined goals.

  • Goals Are Fuzzy - Training usually does not have any specific, measurable organizational goals or outcomes attached. Goals such as "improve leadership skills", "make better supervisors", lack advance metrics.

  • Training in Isolation Doesn't Always Address Behaviors - Many organizations invest in skills training hoping silently that it will also create changes in behavior and results.
